Old Mushroom Farm Reviews We've Loved Lately

There’s something about hearing from our guests that never gets old. Every review tells a different story—some arrive weary from long journeys, others come seeking a creative spark, and some just want to slow down and soak up the Midlands air. Whatever brings you here, The Old Mushroom Farm seems to have a way of making people feel at home.

A Beautiful Place to Unwind

“What a stunning place to unwind after a long journey,” writes Di Andrews. “Highly recommended!”

"If you are looking for a quiet place to just refresh your mind and get away from the hustle of city life this is the place to go." says Tracey Van Der Merwe.

Andy Sibiya felt the same, calling The Old Mushroom Farm “absolutely beautiful, with stunning views. It was so peaceful. If you looking for peace and quiet and time to think this is the place to go. The service was amazing… everyone was soooo so nice. Also super safe.” And that’s exactly the kind of atmosphere we want to create—a place where travellers arrive and instantly feel at ease.

We love that the small touches make a difference.

Clare Sykes appreciated "The pre arrival welcome What’sApp was very reassuring as we arrived late so it was nice to have that personal interaction even though we were too late to actually see anyone."

"Arriving to find the little fireplace already laid ready to light on a freezing August Friday evening was a treat."

Inspired Stays, Unique Spaces

The architecture of The Old Mushroom Farm often catches visitors by surprise.

Lorna describes it as “interesting, stunning…”

This was a rare and wonderful find. Everything was out of the ordinary but extraordinary," says Deborah Van der Westhuizen.

The unusual industrial architecture tastefully furnished with the most unusual retro finds gave it a real modern day look... Exposed brick and piping, industrial windows, a wonderful wood burner... and the unusual kitchen cabinets just made our two bedroomed apartment a special stay."

For the Love of Coffee and Cake

The holiday apartments have everything you need for self-catering, but most guests quickly realise there are too many good eats around the farm to cook a meal in. With cafés, and local artisans all in one place, The Old Mushroom Farm is a great spot for anyone who enjoys a sweet treat.

"The bakery was too good." Says Ganesh Babu Murugan.

Jacqueline Rothman says she had the "Best apple tart I have had in a long time."

Heidi Scholtz “Bought the tastiest handmade chocolates there. Will definitely go back to get more.”

"Great place, even better carrot cake." says Sam Lazarus.

A Destination in Itself

For some guests, The Old Mushroom Farm is the reason for the trip.

The Array of Shops

Some visitors have a clear favourite.

"We booked a night here specifically so we could spend 2 whole days at the bookshop." , Says S Govan. "While the rest of the Old Mushroom Farm is wonderful, including the excellent coffee..., Nude Soaps, and the crystal store, the best part was the HUGE variety of books at such fantastic prices. We are eagerly anticipating the upcoming expansion of the bookshop and will definitely be back!!"
